Food Pantry
The Bethany
Village Food Pantry serves approximately 200 to 300 Union County
families each month. As an approved distribution site for the
Illinois Department of Human Services Emergency Food Program, we
provide services to families who meet DHS income guidelines,
typically on a once-a-month basis.
The Pantry is stocked with donated canned, packaged and frozen foods
from churches and individuals, drives by postal workers and Boy
Scouts, and collections throughout the area. Cash donations are used
to purchase items both locally and from food banks. We stretch our
dollars with orders of commodities and overstocks for about 17 cents
per pound from the Tri-State Food Bank in Evansville, Indiana.
